SRABONTI DUTTA  Indian Classical Danseuse  (Odissi)

Srabonti is an Indian Classical Dancer with the Odissi Dance form being her primary area of interest. She has studied Indian Classical Dance at the prestigious Rabindra Bharti University in Kolkata, India and graduated with an MA. She has performed in dance and cultural festivals in India,Singapore and Malaysia and has won numerous awards. Srabonti is a Singapore Citizen.

 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

 

Conceptualized & Directed dance drama “Teen Kanya” based on Rabindra Nath Tagore's three famous works (Chitrangada, Chandalika & Shyma) to celebrate Tagore's
birthday in 2008. 

 

Directed &  Choreographed Oddisi & creative dance during Saraswati Puja celebrations in Singapore in the years 2006/07/08.

 

Choreographed Tagore's dance drama “Shapmochon” in 2007.

 

Performed for the His Excellency The President of Singapore for a Hindu Endowment Board Cultural Program 

 

Performed & Choreographed Classical Odissi Dance Programs for the Singapore Bengali Association Singapore at the Singapore Polytechnic Auditorium and
NUS Cultural Center in 2004.

 

Organized Classical Dance and Musical Workshop at The Temple of Fine Arts International, KualaLampur, Malaysia.

 

Participated in Classical Odissi Dance Programmers at Temple of Fine Arts, Sarada Sangha (Ramkrishna Mission),&
Bengali Culture Association in KualaLampur, Malaysia.

 Attended Workshops conducted by Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra(1998), Guru Sanjukta Panigrahi(1996), & Ms.Ilena Citarasti(1989).

 

 Dance Instructor at the Childrens Little Theatre  (C.L.T.) Kolkata, India  for various dance forms-1994 to 1998, after having been trained there as a student
 from 1980 to 1993.

 

 Toured all over India with the Childrens Little Theatre (C.L.T. )to participate in numerous Dance Programs-1985 to 1993.
